Toro Powerjet f700 Review – Is It Worth Buying?

There are a lot of advantages to owning an electric leaf blower. For one thing, you never have to deal with gas and oil. For another, electric leaf blowers don’t emit any pollutants.

But there is one common problem with electric, battery-operated leaf blowers: they have limited runtimes. That’s why some people prefer corded electric leaf blowers. A corded electric leaf blower will provide the key advantages we just mentioned plus the added bonus of unlimited runtime.

It’s a pretty good deal all around but you still have to make sure that you choose a quality machine. To that end, we will be taking a close look at the Toro Powerjet f700 in today’s review.

Toro Powerjet f700 Overview

The Toro Powerjet f700 is a handheld, corded, electric leaf blower. It’s light enough for pretty much anyone in your household to operate it. But don’t let the weight fool you; this blower is capable of max air speeds of 140 MPH.

Toro Powerjet f700 First Impressions

At first, we were a little worried about the fact that the Toro Powerjet f700 didn’t have a variable trigger.

Instead, it has a dial on the side that adjusts the motor speed. It was a bit of an inconvenience; but we got used to it pretty quickly.

Choosing a dial over a variable speed trigger is a bit of a perplexing design choice but one that we were ultimately able to overlook in light of the surprising power of this electric leaf blower.

Toro Powerjet f700 Key Features

  • Variable Speed Dial – There is a dial on the side of the handle that allows you to adjust the speed of the mower and the blowing capacity.
  • Cord Lock – The Toro Powerjet f700 features a cord locking system that helps keep your extension cord out of your way when you operate the blower.
  • Lightweight Design – The Toro Powerjet f700 weighs only 6.6 pounds, making it very easy on the arms and shoulders.
  • Unlimited Runtime – As a corded electric leaf blower, the Toro Powerjet f700 gives you unlimited runtime.
  • 7 HP Motor – The 0.7 horsepower motor is powerful to generate air speeds of up to 140 MPH out of the nozzle.

How Does it Perform?

One thing that impressed us about the performance of the Toro Powerjet f700 is that you can stand about 5 feet away from leaves and still move them with this blower.

For the average yard or lawn, the Toro Powerjet f700 will perform very well.

It moved a lot of dry leaves very quickly and from distance too. It struggled a bit with damp leaves; but all we had to do to move them was move close to them.

The speed dial is located close enough to the handle that you can turn it with your thumb too.

How Loud is it?

The Toro Powerjet f700 is moderately loud – about as loud as you would expect a 725 CFM leaf blower to be.

How Heavy is it?

The Toro Powerjet f700 weighs only 6.6 pounds. It’s light enough to easily operate with one hand.

Is it Easy to Handle & Maneuver?

Using the Toro Powerjet f700 was a breeze. Just plug it in with an extension cord and it’s good to go.

While we would have liked a trigger instead of a dial, we at least liked the fact that you can reach the dial with your thumb.

The handle is also nice and long. You can hold it from the back to give you more reach or you can choke up on it for better stability.

It also has a cord lock feature that essentially wraps the cord up so it’s always behind you as you operate the blower.

Power Source

The Toro Powerjet f700 is powered by a 0.7 horsepower motor. You can plug it into any standard 120v electrical outlet with an extension cord.

How is the Power?

The Toro Powerjet f700 is powerful enough to clean up large yards, driveways and backyards. It generates a max of 140 MPH air speed and 725 CFM.

It moves both dry and wet leaves, and the lower speeds are safe for your landscape features.

What Size Job Does it Suit

You wouldn’t use the Toro Powerjet f700 to tackle large commercial jobs but it is more than powerful enough to clear 5500 square foot yards and lawns.

How Durable is it?

While most of the Toro Powerjet f700 appears to be made of hard plastic, it is still able to take a beating. It should stand up very well to normal use.

How Long Will it Last?

From our testing, we have no reason not to believe that the Toro Powerjet f700 can last for at least 6 years.

What Attachments Can You Get With it?

At the time we tested the Toro Powerjet f700, there were no available attachments for it.
